Museo de la no intervensión Fuerte de Loreto (Museum of the non-intervention fort of Loreto)

This place was important to the defense of the city because of its location. In 1815, the hill was fortified and ever since, it has participated in all the attacks on the city. During the battle of 5 de mayo in 1862, it was occupied by the troops of General Berriozábal. In 1933, the work of reconstruction was started to install The Museum of Military History under the National Institute of Anthropology and History.

Fuerte de Guadalupe (Fort of Guadalupe)

It was known as the Cerro de Belén (Hill of Bethlehem) because of the chapel on the top dedicated to Nuestra Señora de Belén (Our Lady of Bethlehem). It wasn’t until 1816 when another temple dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe was built that it obtained its present name. The chapel of Guadalupe was destroyed in 1862 during an attack on the city. All that’s left of this fort are some stone walls and the mote and in the interior, some ruins of some rooms and the temple of Guadalupe. All this because it was the scene of the battle of 5 de mayo of 1862.
